A personal though on the gold card leads me to the conclusion that the chance of someone correctly guessing the code to be in the area of 1 in 333,333 assuming that the gold card used the simplest method of generating the next code.
More complex methods, such as time synching the Gold card reader with RDS time clocks, and generating the code on the fly using a complex algorithem, unique to the users account, would inflate the odds even more.

In theory, it's probably almost uncrackable within one persons life time.
